Via Christi Health's rich history of serving the people of Kansas and the surrounding region dates back more than 100 years to the healing ministries of our founding congregations. Today, Via Christi Health is the largest provider of health care services in Kansas. We serve Kansas and northeast Oklahoma through our doctors, hospitals, senior villages and health services.
In fiscal year 2010, Via Christi Health provided $82.8 million in benefit to the communities we serve. This includes $48.5 million in charity care and $17.1 million in unpaid costs of Medicaid services provided. Via Christi Health employs more than 10,000 people.
Inspired by the Gospel and our Catholic tradition, we serve as a healing presence with special concern for our neighbors who are vulnerable.
Via Christi Villages is a network of 16 senior living communities and programs located in Kansas and northern Oklahoma. The villages provide services to 1,600 residents and employ 1,400 individuals. Services range from independent and assisted living to skilled nursing and memory care. It also includes programs designed to help older adults remain in their own homes later into their lives.
